The daily record
Record each application simply and accurately: the crop or site, the address and town, the pesticide and its formulation, the dosage, the method, the date or dates, the target organisms, and the registrants or permittees who took part. Keep records at the firm or branch the crew works from for at least 2 years.
Restricted use applications add the customer's name and address, the area size, the time, the brand name and EPA number, the total amount, and the certified applicator's name and certification number.
The December 1 annual report
Every year, for the period ending October 31, report your pesticide use to the division by December 1: the applicator and firm, the sites, each trade name, the active ingredient in the concentrate, EPA registration numbers, the major site treated, the acres treated and the total concentrate used. A tidy daily record makes this report quick.
Labels, containers and vehicles
Carry a complete copy of the labeling with every service container and piece of equipment in the vehicle. Service containers get an abbreviated label with the product name, signal word, active ingredients and percentages, your firm's contact details and whether the contents are dilute or concentrate. Vehicles show your business name and firm registration number in letters at least 2 inches high.
Turf work
Lawn and turf customers receive written notice with the products by common chemical name, how they will be applied, the schedule and their right to advance notice of each application date, and treated areas get yellow NOTICE signs left at least 48 hours.
